Jaden turns 7

This year was a family bday party year. Jaden wanted a sword cake and was so excited to get his new bike. He also got a really cool car from grandma De and cool safe bank from grandma Kathy. On family party years the kids get to pick 2 friends to go to a movie with them. Jaden and 2 of his buddies went to AstroBoy. Actually a cute movie. He had so much fun! Can't believe he is already 7 years old. He is such an amazing little guy and so fun to have as part of our family.
Happy Birthday Jaden Mark Roskelley!

Pumpkin Goodies

Fall is such a fun time of year. I love turning on the fireplace and snuggling up with a good book. All the kids love laying next to it too. Then there are all of the beautiful colors outside! Its amazing living in Washington. Trees everywhere and the colors are breathtaking. Even on the freeway! I love cooking with pumpkins in the fall. Maybe because we only do it once a year its sort of a special thing so no one gets sick of it. All of the kids (and their teachers) request pumpkin chocolate chip cookies. Jaden and Ian both took a heaping plate of 30 cookies in this year. I think Chase and Elle ate that many at home! I also found the best recipe I've ever tasted for Pumpkin soup. It has bacon and orange juice and a few other secret ingredients that make it amazing and a total comfort food. Also, this year I tried a few new ones. Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls and a new recipe for Toasted Pumpkin seeds! They are both winners!

Here is the results of the 2 new ones:

Chase the crippled accident victim. There isn't really much you can do with a broken leg up to your groin. So, we decided an accident victim was a fun solution. He got tons of compliments on his costume. Really it was just some gauze on his head with some red make up. Come on people!

Jaden

First he wanted to be just a karate ninja but then when big brother wanted to be a football zombie he changed his mind and decided to be a ninja zombie. SCARY!
