Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Things have been busy as usual for the Roskelley Family. Im going to try to be better at updating this blog again. I put stuff on our family shared icloud account but realize you all cant see that.
This summer was kind of our last summer when all the kids would be home and still kids. So, we planned a big vacation. We went to Mexico for 10 days. It was so fun! But bitter sweet as I knew it was the last little family vacation we'd all spend together. I know they'll all be around and am excited for our family to grow and more to be added in years to come. But its the end of an era.
Big changes from last year. Chase left on his mission in September. We miss him so much but are so proud of him. He was called to serve in the Farmington New Mexico Mission. Which is basically all of the Navajo and Hobi reservations. He is working on his Navajo language and doing a lot of service. His blog I update each week is: elderchaseroskelley.blogspot.com. He already has some great stories. He's even sounding more grown up. He was already a pretty mature kid so its amazing to me to see even more growth.
Ian turned 16 this year! He's on the road and doing great. I've really noticed how much he's grown up just since Chase left. He's really risen to the "oldest" title. He just finished football in which he broke a rib and had to miss the last 3 weeks. Now he's on to basketball. His rib still hurts a little but xrays showed its healing nicely. He wears double rib pads to play. He's on varsity and doing great!
He'll become a priest at church next week and will be blessing the sacrament. I can't believe he's already that old! He also just asked a girl on his first date. He's taking her to a Husky Basketball game. I love it!
Jaden is officially a teenager! Apparently he's quite the heart throb at school and hates all of the attention. One day I noticed all of the texting stopped on his phone this summer from the girls. I asked him why ( I was grateful but worried why) He broke down and said "I couldn't take it all mom, so I just blocked all females but you and grandma!") I love that kid's simple an innocent thinking. He thinks girls are a lot to deal with and is thinking about not dating until after his mission. LOL He is a superstar in football and basketball and is planning on doing soccer this spring. He is in advanced classes this year and although they're more work he is really excelling!
Elle is our little caboose. She's such a petite thing! She started tennis this year. In the past it was just tennis camps etc. We have to drive every week down south but she LOVES it! She also is still doing voice and piano. She loves voice more than piano. She has the sweetest voice and has done a couple solos at church and recitals. She's working on two pieces for church and a Christmas recital coming up. Its been fun to see her grow and do so well in what she loves. She's in her last year of elementary school. She loves flag football and did quite well on her team this last spring. She's excited to play again in spring- YIKES!
Ryan and I- Still in love..we met in 1993 and my life has been pretty amazing since. Can't believe its been over 21 wonderful years of marriage. Looking forward to spending the holidays with him and the 3 kids at home and getting to talk to Chase on the phone!!!
Merry Christmas, I am grateful for our Savior and all he has done for me personally and all of us. I feel His love and cant imagine life without the knowledge of my Savior and what HE is to us.
May we all remember Him and the true meaning of this holiday.
