We've had such a crazy year!  I'm sure many people feel that way right?! This year we FINALLY moved into our (hopefully last ever) house.  We'd planned on building on some acreage we've owned for 15 years but it ended up being a better place for another rental house. So, we ended up searching and found a fabulous home.  It really fits our needs better than I would have known.  I sometimes sit and think... "wow I wouldn't have built that in our house but I'm so glad we have it"  

Like the light switch for Christmas lights-  Its awesome! We took a little over a month for vacation this summer. We went to California, Oregon, Vegas, Utah, Idaho, Arizona & Montana.  It was a lot of fun. Some basketball and just fun time.  But if felt so good to come home to our home!

So here's updates for the family: 

Chase: Still a missionary and loving it!  I'm excited this is the last Christmas away.   He's not a man of many words so we usually get more of a detailed description of things from his Mission President.  His president sends us a letter each time Chase gets a new calling or a new companion to train.  I've been updating his blog (not weekly) but often.  Chase's Mission Blog .  I'm still amazed at the growth he shows in his letters.  His testimony of the Savior and our gospel is of course growing. But his love for the people and his maturity grows through service.  

Ian: Started the Running Start program at Everett Community College this year.  He will be getting high school and college credit for the next 2 years.  Except for the hard nutrition class he signed up for he's been doing great.   He got in 2 small fender benders.  First one was a cop that hit into him!  It was the officer's fault and he totally took the blame for it.  About 4 months later it was Ian's turn to bump into the back of a guy.  This guy also ended up being the dean of the Running Start Program at the college. LOL  The gentleman was very kind. Ian is still playing football and basketball.  Basketball is his favorite and although his high school is new and still establishing their sports program he is doing great.  He is the best defense players and solid in offense as well.  He is a priest in church and I still love listening to him bless the sacrament. He's gone on dates but usually does mostly group activities.  I really like that :) He's wanting to be a Chiropractor when he grows up. 

Jaden: Last year of middle school and mandatory piano lessons. I don't know which one his more excited about. Sometimes he actually enjoys playing piano.  He just became a teacher at church.  He's such a sweet guy.  I have people come up and tell me how kind he is at school all of the time.  He still has problems with the girls being to in love with him but he just ignores it better now.  I tell him just treat them like normal friends and you'll be fine.  He is still playing football,  year-round basketball & soccer.  He'd like to play lacrosse, and rugby and swim and ride motor cross etc.   But reality is that there's only so many minutes in the day! He's enjoyed being part of the leadership team at school this year.  He's also been an awesome big brother on campus for his little sister. He's looked out for her and is so sweet to her (most of the time) He's definitely my most tender guy.  He seems to worry about others well being more than most. 

He's still throwing out the idea of being an engineer when he grows up. 

Elle:  First year of middle school!  Girls are definitely meaner and more drama than boys in middle school.  She comes home and tells me things people say and do at school and its still a shock to me even though I've had the 3 boys.  We finished decorating her room first when we moved to the new house.  The brothers are kinda mad about that but she's loving it!  She's still doing tennis and flag football.   She did volleyball this year too and enjoyed the sport.  She did an amazing solo on Sunday at church in sacrament.   She just got over a cold and I was nervous for her but it was beautiful.  She excels in voice and piano but loves voice the most.  Her middle school choir is great! She even gets up for 6:50am practice.  She got to go to part of Girls Camp this summer because I was one of the nurses.  She loved it!  She is in her last year of primary too.  She can't wait to be a YW! 

She wants to be a professional tennis player when she grows up.

Ryan and I have been busy - mostly living for our kids  Its so fun watching them learn and grow. We really enjoy watching them in sports, church, music etc.  Im still a part time nurse at the school and Ryan is still an IT manager guy.  Most importantly we get to be married to each other and have 4 awesome kids.  Not a day goes by Im not grateful for this! 

We hope you all enjoy this Christmas holiday and get a minute to feel the spirit of this sweet holiday.   I am so grateful for the amazing moments we all get to experience.  I know our Savior loves us and while I'm grateful for His birth I'm also grateful for His death and what sacrifices He's done for us.
